Graceless Lady.

On July 9th I started to feel really sick. Over the course of the illness I experienced a sore throat, fever, chills, dizziness, nausea, lost my voice, gained a cough, and mucus galore coming out of multiple orifices. In the photo above you can actually sort of see my corner of tea/vitamins/jello/salt behind Ada. Only now does it seem to have finally passed, but my appetite still hasn't fully come back, there's a lingering cough, still mucusey and my voice still isn't quite right. I probably lost about 10 lbs in a week from my jello & soup diet, and I think my stomach shrank. I was really annoyed that I got so ill; all my home organizing came to a screeching halt, and I couldn't offer my help to friends who needed it. I hadn't been sick like this for over a year and a half at least, too.

On July 15th Philippe left on a small family trip. He came back late last night which we were both very happy about. During his absence I went a little nuts and purchased a bunch of stuff. I think it was partially to fill the void, partially because I realized I have a credit card [eek], and partially because most of the things I bought I sincerely wanted for a long time. I felt so guilty buying so much. I never ever do this sort of thing, yet I felt possessed at the same time, and couldn't stop. To balance out the purchases I was also productive with arting, though. I did some stuff for Etsy, but also began a series of paintings that I hope to make into a long term project. The studio is still in disarray so I have only been able to do the under drawings for three paintings. Tomorrow Phil and I will tackle the studio and get it in working condition. I cannot wait to have a place to paint again.

Today I am supposed to help a friend paint her apartment, but she has not contacted me yet. Later, at night, we are meeting up with Phil to see Wall-E. I am excited!

1. Threadless t-shirt. I ordered the xsmall male size, though. I don't like how the female shirts shrink.

2. Buffy, Volume 2: Issues 6-10. I like owning my comics in volumes.

3. Three packs (30 photos) of Polaroid film! I have wanted to get this film for a really long time, and I got this for a good deal. It works out to be about $1.90 per photo, which is cheap for Polaroid.

4. A cute and simple polaroid photo album. It comes with stickers which is kind of lame. Don't think I'll be using them.

I also went out and purchased a short grey skirt, two camisoles (I've been desperately needing them), and one stripey shirt. I also purchased some cat grass seeds and soil. I think in total, on everything, I probably spent $200. I know that's not a crazy amount, but for me it is. After tonight's movie I am not going to be splurging for a long while. At least until I start making some money from Etsy and from completing some mystery shopper missions.

Early this morning there was a loud thunderstorm and it was thrilling. I want it to storm more.

Good day!

God I love that icon, Carolina.

I miss you too! Cannot wait for all of us to be back in Montreal at the same time.

Our apartment is still kind of messy, and we haven't put any art up, so you aren't missing much, heh. The more time you give before coming here the better it will look!

Oh man I am really glad that I am not so sure how buying things off the internet works. Whenever I find something that I need desperately I get my dad to order it for me, I would probably be twice as broke otherwise.

Is the mystery shopper thing buying lottery tickets for mcgill? I totally applied for that but tragically did not end up getting hired. I guess I don't feel too bad about not looking like I might be underage, but being unemployed is sucking.

Good to hear you are feeling well! I ended up running into some people and seeing Hellboy 2 yesterday (batman was sold out) and we got caught in the rain. I hope you were sensible enough to bring an umbrella! (they were not and mine sucks.)

Hah, I regret that I found out how to order stuff, it burnt a hole in my wallet! I used to get my dad to order stuff for me too, way back when I lived at home. He hated doing it.

No no, the mystery shopper thing is through this site: http://www.lanla.com
I haven't gone on any missions yet, though. Need to start doing that soon!

Yeah, Batman...I'm really glad I didn't see that yesterday night. Maybe in a few weeks when the craze has died down a bit. I really enjoyed Wall-E though. It was far more endearing and funny than I thought it would be. I went to the AMC Cinema at Atwater, so I was luckily near a metro. Minimal rainage, and when we surfaced it wasn't raining. We were lucky!

Oh, p.s. I do not have your phone number! I forgot to tell you that ages ago. Woops!

Oh gosh, I thought Wall-E was incredibly endearing and far more humorous than I had imagined it could be. And the detail in the graphics was astonishing. I was blown away by it. Not to say that it didn't have its weak points, but overall it was just too beautiful not to like.

I never ended up sending my banking info and stuff to mystery shoppers, but they seem very legitimate. Something on their site made me feel this way, but I forget what it was now...

Yeah! The threadless shirt is super cute!! And get on with knitting those partners, hehe.

I love polariods! There is something so beautiful in the simplicity of the images that can be created with them. Where did you get such a good deal for that film? I bought a polaroid camera a while back this year but haven't used it yet, though Im eager to try it out!
