some heartwarming words in a bad motel. you laugh 'cause you're unsure of which way it felt.

I haven't left the apartment since Thursday, the snow and ice was just too much for me. But now I really have to pick up the slack. Not that I didn't accomplish anything at home, but it didn't feel like as much as I could have had I left the safety of my cave.

I started reading Terry Pratchett's book The Fifth Elephant. It is incredibly comical. This is my first time reading his work and I am enjoying it immensely. My former Cegep professor Linda loves Terry Pratchett, and the art that was created for his wacky Discworld. I love how he makes fun of high fantasy and creates characters who aren't altruistic or completely evil. After this book, I plan to read Oryx and Crake by Margaret Atwood, which I purchased at an amazing little used book store my friend Gavin introduced me to. It feels exciting to have material lined up to read.

I recently started a diary/sketchbook/inspiration journal and it feels really spectacular to create for myself. I feel less inclined to update here because of it. I often would obsess about what I would update this blog with, what parts of my life I thought would be interesting for me to share with others. The way I went about thinking entries through wasn't healthy. Hopefully from now on updates here will be more sporadic, but more fun? We shall see.

Here's some bad photos to show how crazy it was outside:

We brushed Tybr. He was not a fan.

And Adelaide watched me brush my teeth, meowing at me every so often.

I have been feeling very uninspired with photo taking lately. I look forward to when that curves.

Hope you all have a fantastic, productive day!

reading lists RULE. I have a heap of novels next to my bed and more on hold at the library.... maybe that's why I can't get anything done these days :/

Haha, possibly!

Yeah, I have a very large list of books to read written down in my journal, but I don't want to get ahead of myself, especially now that it's crunch time at school!

p.s. I drew you with mini antlers. My drawing doesn't really do you justice though. And I am still hoping to paint you with larger antlers eventually.

coool- it's your piece, so if it doesn't 'do me justice' I won;t be weirded out or offended, no biggie :)
hope the project's going well!

Oh I know. :)
It definitely looks like you, I just don't think I quite captured you. Maybe with the painting I'll have better luck. It's difficult because I don't chart the image [using a graph of squares] or trace or use a projection, I just draw so proportions get a little off and because I'm a perfectionist it bothers me.

I will most likely be posting the drawing on my art blog soon. I will let you know when I do!

YOU MUST READ "GOOD OMENS". YOU MUST YOU MUST. It's written by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman and is one of my favorite books ever. I don't even know what to say about it, because there's just so much to say XD Because of Pratchett, is remarkably witty and funny in really intelligent ways, and because of Gaiman, it's well, not quite beautifully written, but very nicely written? Such a fun read, you should give it a try!

Yay, kitty cats! and snow o___o

Hi Katherine,
Unfortunately I cannot help you out in that department. I don't own an ipod. I guess you could say I am the creative zen type of gal. :)
