snow can wait, i've forgot my mittens

I should practice black & white photography more often. It can be very enjoyable.

January felt like it would never end. Hello, February! I hope you are a prolific one.
I have been feeling very knotted and stressed lately. My ceramics course being the main source.
It has gotten to the point where I can't remember the last day I wasn't at the VA building. It's been weeks.
But at least I am off to a little pizza/spaghetti gathering. Mmmm...

Where there is string there is a hopeful kitten.

Also, a few pages from my sketchbook, sloppily photographed.
I forgot about the torpedo sausage cats and some other non cartoony things. Woops.

I got into drawing Dig Pogs, which are a mix of pigs and dogs if you couldn't guess.

I like towels too, Colty.

And then I got into this weird obsession with drawing antlers. Elk antlers are my favorite.

In reality that black sheep would be on it's head with all its little feet flailing in the air.

Have you seen Princess Mononoke? One of your drawings looks a lot like:

Nice sketchbook drawings, are the first three pages all done in ink?
Also the first photo is gorgeous,
it would be great to see a whole series like that.

I have been wanting a camera for ages
and I might just have to bother you for advice some time soon.

The first page was done with a dying brush pen, the second [which is also the third] were done with a thin black pen...the ones that are silver looking...forget the name.

And I was actually thinking of doing a series, you are keen!

I would love to be bothered about camera stuff!

If that first person hadn't mentioned Mononoke I would have, thought of that right away. I think I drew a Dig Pog in high school, if I find it I will post it.

black &white rules; except when it's my digital cam's built-in b&w setting, or direct rgb-to-greyscale conversion in photoshop.. all the tones just die :(

I just converted it in photoshop, rgb to greyscale, though I played around with the levels a bit to fix the tones. I would like to get some black and white film though.

Carlye and i were watching Planet Earth this weekend and we saw this part with some big-horned sheep that liked to ram one another. their antlers were curved to the point that if one looked up too fast he'd probably impale himself. it didn't seem like a good idea, evolutionarily speaking.

the black sheep on the last page makes me think of that

and laugh

Hahaha, wow, poor self impaling sheep! I need to watch Planet Earth! Perhaps over reading week.
Large horns or antlers on sheep is quite the comical image.
