everything looks perfect from far away.


Holy potatoes, who else in Montreal saw the lightning and heard the thunder in the midst of the crazy snowstorm today? My friend Jacob was walking outside when the lightning flashed, and described it as everything going blindingly white, due to the glare from all the snow. What bizarre weather. I love snow, but this is a little ridiculous.

In other news, my legs are killing me today! For seven hours I helped the neighbors load up their moving truck yesterday. We all live on the third floor, so as you can imagine that's a lot of exercise. I am also quite sad that they moved to Quebec City, they were the best neighbors. They insisted that we have no option but to visit them in their new home, though, and I've always wanted to see Quebec City, so that will be fun. All the same, I will miss Rosalie, Steeve and little Matthias. They were also ridiculously generous! They ended up giving Phil and I two ikea chairs [which the cats love for snoozing], $20 worth of quarters for laundry, a little lamp and some other things. There is still furniture in their apartment that we can take if we like [we have a key to get in]. I feel a little weird about all they gave us, but at the same time it apparently wasn't needed anymore and I'm sure we will find a place for it. We always seem to be lacking comfortable seating.

I am so enjoying not having school responsibilities. I love not having work or tasks I need to get done. Though I still have some Christmas shopping to do, but I love buying for others so I look forward to that! Oh yeah...and I never finished the dirty dishes...eck.

THUNDERSNOW! That is the actual term for it that i learned today. Weird. I don't think we had any here though, but ya we have mega snow.

I've never heard of thundersnow before, and don't believe I have ever experienced it before this either. I kind of wish it had gone on longer, even though it was a bit scary in an apocalyptic sort of way.

The amount of snow is rediculous! I am kind of happy I wasn't in Montreal to have to deal with walking every where. I guess it helps that you don't need to go anywhere since school is out!

Sweet about the chairs! Better than your wretched futon.

Poor futon! What has it ever done to you...well, except make your ass hurt...hopefully we will get an L-couch sometime in the nearish future. For the next apartment so that we don't have to transport it, hah.

Todays snow was rather insane, yes O__O I wish I could have seen lightining though! (dunno if there was any over here though..)

Aw, thats always bittersweet, awesome neighbours are, well, awesome :) Its so nice of them to be giving you guys stuff too! :D

Yeah I know! My mom has one too and I always loved sitting in it. I am still in shock that we have TWO and I have no clue where to put them both. Hah.

Carlye and i made a blanket for our friend David and his girlfriend. their three cats IMMEDIATELY claimed it as theirs so it was at least a week and a half before the people actually got to try it.

i see a similar fate for your chairs

Indeed. The cats have not let up on them yet. We actually have to kick them off if we want to use them, but we usually cannot because they look too cute and peaceful so we sit somewhere else. Damn their sneaky, tricksy ways!

Oh wow, I was at the gas station, inside the car with my mom, waiting for my dad while he was paying for gas when I saw the lightning, and then a few miliseconds later heard the HUGE thunger. And we both got really scared... lol. We're such girls. My dad tried to convince us it was a transformer that blew up, but since you heard it too, I'm pretty sure it was more than a transformer. Crazy.

That'S really generous of your neighbors to give you all that stuff!

I'm totally enjoying not having school responsibilities too. It's pretty liberating! :)

Haha, a transformer blowing up seems way more dangerous to me somehow. Like, not a thing to say to calm people down.

Liberating is a very appropriate word to describe this feeling. :)

Hahaha! Now that you mention it... so true! I guess I found it more alarming that there was thunder and lightning in WINTER, because I hadn't ever heard of or seen that before lol. Transformers blowing up? Happens all the time! ;) wow.
