Sock Munkeez!


Meet Petey and Lorelai!
[info]lalocarolina made these for us for Christmas! They are her first sock monkeys ever.
I decided it was important to make macros with them. Phil helped!
Except I didn't have the heart to caption on the images, I'm not a true macro-er.

p.s. These were edited on my laptop, like most of my images. On Phil's bright widescreen monitor these look so contrasty! They're not meant to. I hate that.

Oh man, this post is so perfect from beginning to end.

How did you get them to stick to the painting?

And are the cats regularly sentries like that?

Haha, masking tape! It's weak enough to not do any damage to the painting or the monkeys, but strong enough to hold them there temporarily. Phil was holding them in place until I was ready.

Aaahaha, the cats are usually trying to push the tree off the table. That was just a coincidence. And initially they were both looking at the same place because there were noises coming from the hallway, but that stopped so Phil went in the entry way to get their attention so I could get the shot.

If you know how to sew they're time consuming but pretty straightforward to make. I want to try my hand at it too. So awesome.

Haha, glad you enjoyed it. I thought the lines were pretty hilarious too. Phil helped me word them just right. And the "Cat haz handburger!" one was all Phil and it makes me laugh everytime just because Phil and I are currently in a phases where we are constantly saying "I can haz cheezeburger?" to each other whenever we want something that the other is eating. Entertaining!

Oh and thanks! The xmas lights go all around the frame of the living room entry way. You may have seen those photos on facebook, hehe.

Oh man, I am so excited for you all to get here. I have so many questions and stuff to say about that, though. When do you think you'll be arriving here? For lunchtime? I hope so, because Phil and I really want to make a yummy, cheesy, healthy lunch for you three!

Also, don't forget to bring your xmas stockings! And If you want to bring some decorations for the tree that's cool too. It has lights, and Phil is planning on making a Penguin to put on the top, but aside from that it is bare, but still pretty!

Maybe Phil or I will send out an e-mail to you guys, or call to double check on stuff and get things organized, like foods.

Carlye and i were at the fabric store this weekend and i kept finding all kinds of "make your own monkey" kits and "stuff your own dinosaur" kits. i really wish i had known about these BEFORE i had finished christmas shopping back in October
